MD.IE://Funding/Development/Tv and Film Projects/Slate Funding

Scheme Overview

Slate funding is aimed primarily at more established companies that have experience and proven ability in developing and producing a number of substantial projects successfully.

Eligiblity Criteria

As with the Single Development scheme; the following projects are eligible for consideration:

  • 1. Drama projects (whether a one-off or a series) of no less than 50 mins.
  • 2. Creative Documentaries of no less than 25 mins (duration per episode in the case of a series)
  • 3. Animation projects (whether a one-off or a series) of no less than 24 mins.

Your company must prove that it produced at least 1 work in the past 5 years. You must also prove that this project has been distributed internationally.
Slate Funding is very competitive and if you have, for example, produced one half hour documentary 5 years ago which was commercially distributed on one broadcaster for a nominal fee; you may want to consider Single Project development funding.
If you have already received Slate Funding from MEDIA; you may be eligible for a top-up in the form of Slate Funding 2nd Stage.
